Capitol Manners is one of Washington DC’s most exclusive schools of modern manners.

We provide exclusive and private, etiquette classes and event planning for individuals, schools, groups, clubs, companies and occasions throughout DC, Virginia, and Maryland. We provide one-on-one manners training for kids, teens, caregivers and nannies, refresher courses on etiquette and entertaining for adults and business protocol lessons and image branding counseling for professionals.

Capitol Manners offers advice on protocol needs for event planning including, charity events, business functions, kids party planning, and lessons on wedding and entertaining etiquette and more.

For children we share lessons on politeness, table manners, appearance, good hygiene introductions, social grace, digital image, good in-person social skills for schools, sports events, restaurants, sleep overs and other topics to students ages 6 to 18.

Our Story

Capitol Manner’s founder, Kristin Pearson Wilcox, J.D., North Beach, M.D., received a certificate in global business etiquette from the Protocol School of Washington and studied protocol at the U.S. State Department Foreign Service Institute.

She served as a public advocate in the Halls of Congress and the White House for two decades. Frequently, entertaining legal and Washington, D.C. colleagues from her Capitol Hill home before she fell in love and moved to Maryland. She has traveled extensively, organized and attended countless public functions as the wife a current U.S. State Department diplomat and Maryland city official. Committed to public service, she is excited to share lessons and stories of her experiences in manners, etiquette, event planning, entertaining instruction and business protocol services.
